The design of Gmail app has undergone many improvements over the years, relying on different design languages used by Google in the past. It seems that Google has decided now to make a new design for Gmail app on Android and iOS platforms based on the modern design language.
According to Google :"Today, we’re kicking off the year with a new look for Gmail on mobile,
too. As part of the new design, you can quickly view attachments—like
photos—without opening or scrolling through the conversation. It’s also
easier to switch between personal and work accounts, so you can access
all of your emails without breaking a sweat. And just like on the web,
you’ll get big, red warnings to alert you when something looks phish-y."
We need to say that the new look of Gmail app looks brighter, although it does not reflect the best you can get because Google previously acknowledged that the dark appearance helps extend battery life, so we think this white interface will not provide any service for battery life .
