Samsung announced a new processor called Exynos 7904 aimed primarily at smart phones medium. The new processor should help Samsung price its smartphones at a cheaper price to compete more with Chinese companies pricing their smartphones at much cheaper prices than their South Korean counterparts. Samsung says the new processor offers leading features at a cheaper price.
According to Samsung, the new Exynos 7904 processor was manufactured using 14 nanometer (nm) technology and was supplied with eight nano-total. Specifically, this processor includes two 1.8-GHz Cortex-A73 nuclei for complex tasks and six other 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 nuclei for more complex tasks. Regardless of cores, this processor supports the LTE Cat.12 modem or up to 600 Mbps when it comes to download speed.
The IPS Image Processor in the new Exynos 7904 processor can handle a single camera with up to 32 megapixels or three cameras with advanced features. It also supports video shooting at 1080p and 120 frames per second or 4K at 30 frames per second.
Samsung says that this new processor will perform well when it comes to multimedia, and great smoothness during multitasking, has already entered the processor into mass production and we expect to see the first smartphone from Samsung is using this processor in the coming days.
